The new range of iPhones, including the 16 series, has been the talk of the town for its world-class features and stunning looks. However, the early buyers have come across certain unpredicted problems, which were observed by some experts and Apple fans. Several users have posted on their social media accounts about the display issue that has been a concern for the durability.

Here are several issues which you may not be aware of, which are part of the iPhone 16 series, such as iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.

1. Pro Models Have Restricted Boost Rates

As 120Hz ProMotion displays have been included in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, it is reported that the detailed description indicated that the 16 Pro held the average boost rate to 80Hz during normal operations. Technologists have explained that this kind of limitation might be one of Apple’s strategies to reduce the battery drainage rate, but it might result in smoothness of animation and scrolling that is inferior as compared to android phones.

2. Touchscreen That’s Frozen Over

A rather bothersome bug on the iPhone 16 Pro happens to be touchscreen freezing, which Tom’s Guide claims to be the case when a user accidentally touches the regions right beside the new Camera Control button.

Or, to further clarify what Tom’s Guide previously elaborated on more in detail, while Apple is already aware of this issue and is working towards rectifying it with the anticipated iOS 18.0.1 update, some of the newest handset users did mention on twitter that their devices have been freezing intermittently instead.

3. Glitches with Camera App

While some users are reeling from the previously mentioned Countering the Rest, other iPhone 16 users are also moderately annoyed by glitches in the camera feature while others are looking to invest in new handsets.

For starters, there has been instances of black screens while the camera app is open and is being used. During video recording of several sessions, lag was also seen. Many devices were noticed to crash while attempting to open the Camera from the locked screen.

These issues often do resolve when device overheating is cooled down by powering off the devices, however after some time, they do tend to reappear, which is rather grating for the end users.

4. Zooming Too Much

Yet another addition to the myriad of issues with the camera is users accidentally zooming in, or out while trying to use the Schizo-Tech upper arm level camera.

The sensitivity of this button makes it much harder to use and requires getting accustomed to. As a result many users are having a hard time coming to terms with the far better sliding Camera Control button that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max debuted with.

5. Concerns in durability

Users claimed that drop tests failed to provide satisfactory results; this is particularly true for the iPhone 16 series. Unlike other devices from the same series, the iPhone 16 Pro fails almost after a pair of drops giving rise to durability issues.

The device was able to offset most iPhone durability issues, which could be attributed to the thinner bezels, albeit at the cost of device performance.

6. Problems with Overheating

Prolonged device heating issues while using was another major concern that has been raised by users. While running resource heavy intensive apps, users experienced the iPhone 16 getting a little too hot for comfort.

Even though thermal management issues have been targeted by Apple, there remains speculation that the heating issue will still negatively impact performance in the long run.

7. Bugs associated with iOS 18

It's further stated that the newly developed iOS 18 has caused a ruckus among other hardware problems. Users claimed that newer apps became sluggish, crashey and refused to load. Other suggestions revolved around the possibility of the software still needing a few kinks to iron.

What can we expect with the iPhone 16?

Despite those issues being problematic, they are not widespread, and likely Apple is working on some software updates. For the time being, users experiencing any issues need to make sure that they have the latest software version on their devices, and evaluate whether using protective cases makes sense.
