"Over 10,000 Youths Have Laid Down Arms" – Amit Shah

Shah credited Modi’s government for bringing peace to Assam, claiming that over 10,000 youths who were previously involved in armed movements have surrendered and joined the mainstream in the last decade.
He said Assam has undergone a significant transformation, shifting from a conflict-ridden past to a more stable future.

Massive Investment Plans for Assam

Shah announced major infrastructure investments aimed at boosting Assam’s economy and development:

₹3 lakh crore will be invested in new infrastructure projects.
₹5 lakh crore investment has been proposed in the recent Assam Business Summit.

“The Narendra Modi-led government is committed to Assam’s development and ensuring job opportunities for the youth,” Shah said.

Police Reforms: From Anti-Terror Operations to Public Safety

Shah highlighted the significant improvement in policing in Assam:

Earlier, policing was focused on fighting terrorism.
Now, the police force is people-centric, ensuring better law enforcement.
Conviction rates have increased from 5% to 25% in the last three years and will soon cross the national average.

Lachit Barphukan Police Academy to Become India’s Top Police Training Centre

Shah assured that the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy will be transformed into India’s top police training institution in the next five years.
The academy will receive a total investment of ₹1,050 crore, to be implemented in phases.
