Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Congress is going to make 5 major promises to the people of Delhi for the Delhi Assembly elections. These promises are being called "guarantees". These guarantees will be launched in a phased manner between January 6 and January 11, 2025.

The guarantees of Congress are as follows

  1. Sending money directly to women's accounts: Congress has paid special attention to women for the Delhi elections. Congress is going to implement a scheme to send money directly to the accounts of women of Delhi. 
  2. Health Insurance Scheme: Congress will implement Health Insurance Scheme for the people of Delhi. 
  3. Job guarantee for youth: Congress is going to play a big bet to woo unemployed voters. The party can announce an apprenticeship scheme for unemployed youth.
  4. Ration for all: Congress will implement ration for all scheme in Delhi to regain its traditional vote bank.
  5. Free electricity up to 400 units: Congress is going to promise the people of Delhi to give free electricity up to 400 units. However, Congress state president Devendra Yadav has already announced this.

These Congress guarantees for the people of Delhi will be launched by key party leaders, such as party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and MP Priyanka Gandhi, in a phased manner from Monday.

Alka Lamba against Atishi

Earlier, the Congress has declared its women's unit president Alka Lamba as its candidate against Chief Minister Atishi from Delhi's Kalkaji assembly seat. A press release was issued in this regard by the party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal. The Congress Central Election Committee approved Alka Lamba's name from Kalkaji. All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba started her student politics with the National Student Organization of India (NSUI) in the 1990s. Later she joined the Aam Aadmi Party and became an MLA from Chandni Chowk in 2015 on an AAP ticket. A few years ago, she returned to the Congress. Chief Minister Atishi is currently an MLA from Kalkaji and once again she is in the fray as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate. 

Sandeep Dixit against Kejriwal

Congress has so far announced the names of a total of 48 candidates. It has given ticket to former MP Sandeep Dixit against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat. Similarly, Congress has fielded former Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Farhad Suri against former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Jangpura seat. Delhi Assembly elections are likely to be held next month.
