
New Delhi: Recently, the Delhi High Court has allowed appeal filed by coming Assembly elections regarding the filing of nomination papers of an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots Tahir Hussain, an AIMIM candidate and a former ANC member. The judgement was delivered by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna recently.
The court also mentioned that the Delhi police have been directed to escort Husain to the election office and aid him in the identification formalities preceding and following his nomination.
The nomination filing said court has no problem filing it during the nomination process. Detailed scheduling was discussed in the presence of relatives marking the filing meant to be done in coordination with the concerned authorities. ‘This ensures that all nominated Sabah candidates have their nominations completed on time.’
Nominees who are assigned a nominee media attendant have special rules, as Hussain had at that time, uncontained and forbidding rule did not allow mobile phones, landlines or any other form of a communication device. Parents were able to accompany him but taking photography or sharing on social media was not permitted.
Since it is clarified that there is no threat this umbrella is relatively dormant, however, subverting the threats he poses to serve his interests as narrated, on close analysis of all the provisions, Husain, according to the court, “has solicited custody parole in order to pledge an oath and complete the necessary procedures for filing their nomination papers”.
