Elon Musk's satellite internet service provider company Starlink may soon start its broadband service in India. The company is waiting for the green signal from TRAI and spectrum allocation. Starlink is also testing satellite cell service during this time. The company has partnered with American telecom service provider T-Mobile for this. After the testing is completed, satellite calling service can also be started along with Starlink broadband.

FCC gave approval

Starling and T-Mobile have received approval from the US agency FCC. The company has started registration for this. Those who want to test this service can register for T-Mobile Starlink direct-to-sale service. The first beta test of this service will be done in 2025, in which the focus will be on text messages first. After this, voice and data connectivity will be tested. Limited spots are available for its beta testing. However, service providers will select the agencies and individuals who register first for its testing.

Connectivity will be available without mobile tower

There are plans to provide coverage up to 5 lakh square miles from America through Starlink satellite. Terrestrial mobile towers will not be used for this service. Users will be able to establish communication through satellite service from their phones. Neither mobile network nor SIM card will be required for this. Communication can be done as soon as you enable satellite service in your smartphone.

This satellite-to-cell service of Starlink will be integrated with the existing network of American telecom operator T-Mobile so that users can use it along with regular cellular service. Starlink's satellite-to-cell service will be especially beneficial in remote areas where mobile networks are not available. Users will be able to communicate through this service. This service can be launched commercially after beta testing. After successful testing of Starlink's satellite-to-cell service, it can be launched in other countries as well.
