New Delhi: While addressing a public meeting in Delhi's Mustafabad on Wednesday, AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi fiercely targeted Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. On the question of giving ticket to Tahir Hussain, accused of Delhi riots, Asaduddin Owaisi said that when we announced Tahir Hussain's name, these people got stomach ache. Speaking on the Constitution and reservation, he said that Ambedkar had already said that whenever minorities will demand their share, they will be called communalists.

'Everyone has the right to create their own leadership'

Owaisi said, 'The constitution was discussed in Parliament just 3 days ago. When the constitution was being made, Maulana Azad had demanded Muslim reservation, but some people opposed it. Think for yourself what did we get in 75 years? We demand that we get reservation not on the basis of religion, but on economic basis. Ambedkar had already said that whenever minorities demand their share, they will be called communalists. Everyone has the right to form their own leadership. We are also told that we benefit the BJP, but we say that even all of us together cannot defeat the BJP. Tell me, how did the BJP win in Haryana and Maharashtra? Today, apart from Muslims, no one votes against the BJP.'

'...but Muslims don't get bail'

On Tahir Hussain being given a ticket in the Delhi Assembly elections, Owaisi said, 'When we announced Tahir Hussain's name, these people got a stomachache. These are the same people who used to eat sitting on Tahir Hussain's roof. Today two CMs have got bail, but Muslims don't get bail. After I leave, people will come and say that Owaisi gives emotional speeches. Who were the people who defeated Imtiaz Jalil? They were Muslims. Such people will come to you too. What kind of secularism? Kejriwal gets bail, we don't. They will scare you that Gabbar Singh will come, but you should not be afraid. Delhi CM gave 1 crore to one side killed in the riots, but not to the other side.'

'This is not Kejriwal's father's money'

Taking aim at Kejriwal , Owaisi said, 'Kejriwal is the biggest communalist. Kejriwal should come with me to Mustafabad and tell me where the school has been built? He built a luxurious house, but what has he given to Mustafabad? He is giving ticket to the person who desecrated the Quran. He got the Idgah of Old Delhi occupied. He did not form the Delhi Waqf Board. BJP does not give ticket to any Muslim. Today mosques are being attacked. Five people were killed in Sambhal. Papers of 500-year-old mosques are being demanded. Kejriwal is saying, I will give this, I will give that. This is not Kejriwal's father's money, this is the government's money.'

'What is the relationship between you and me, La ilaha illallah'

AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel said, 'Ever since we decided to make Tahir Hussain our candidate, the whole country has been in an uproar. We want to tell BJP that if you can give ticket to Sadhvi, then Tahir is our brother. The same Kejriwal whom you took to the heights is today giving ticket to those who disrespect the Quran. Now these people will bring Kejriwal down. We can tolerate anything, but not disrespect against the Quran and the Prophet. I have never met Tahir, but my relationship with Tahir is the same, what is the relationship between you and me, La ilaha illallah.'
