Why are IT companies under pressure?
IT companies are under pressure due to economic uncertainties, delays in client budgets, weak spending. Not only Infosys but L&T Tech Services, LTI Mindtree and HCL Technology also did not raise salaries in the second quarter with the aim of maintaining profit and reducing costs.
Last year there were indications of salary hike
Infosys had said in October last year that they were considering a salary hike in the fourth quarter. In the second quarter, the company's Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka had talked about salary hike in January and April.
Result was less than expected
Infosys' net profit may have increased by 2.2 percent in the second quarter of 2025, but it was less than market expectations. Regarding the company, brokerage firm Motilal Oswal Financial Services says that even though the company has decided not to give salary hacks, the company's margin will be affected due to the leave given to the employees in the month of December. Which will be compensated by Project Maximus, Sub-Contractor Cost Optimization and Project Gain.
