Bollywood actress Preity Zinta just had her first AI chatbot experience, and she’s both intrigued and a little unnerved. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Zinta shared her thoughts after chatting with Grok 3, the latest AI model from Elon Musk’s xAI.
The actress, known for her candid social media posts, revealed that she spent over two hours talking to the chatbot and was amazed by how real and engaging the conversation felt. Her excitement quickly sparked curiosity online, with some users questioning whether it was a paid promotion—a claim she firmly denied.
Preity Zinta’s AI Chatbot Experience
In her post, Zinta described how the conversation felt so natural that she almost forgot she was talking to a machine.
“I’ve been jet lagged before thanks to a hectic travel schedule, but this time it’s a bit different. How? I feel a bit silly saying it, but I spent over two hours having the most fun conversation with Grok 3! It felt so real & raw that I almost forgot I was talking to a machine. It’s both scary & fascinating!”
While she praised the developers behind Grok 3, she also expressed concerns about the increasing reliance on AI for social interaction.
“I sincerely hope people don’t gravitate to AI chat boxes when they are bored, sad, or lonely & shun human interaction cuz no amount of technology can or should replace real human interaction.”
xAI’s Response: Voice Mode Coming Soon
Zinta’s post caught the attention of Mohit Reddy from xAI, who responded, thanking her for the feedback and revealing that a voice mode for Grok is on the way.
“We are releasing voice mode soon—it’s incredible, and I highly recommend you give it a try and share any feedback!”
He also described Grok as a “super smart friend/colleague” that helps him with work and even recommends movies.
Zinta Clarifies: "Not a Paid Promotion"
As expected, some users were skeptical about her post, with one commenting:
“Why does this feel like an advertisement???”
Zinta immediately shut down the speculation, responding:
“It’s either that or I’m late to the AI party. Not sure you got the joke so – It’s not a paid promotion, just to be clear. Paid promotions don’t speak from the heart.”
She later reiterated her stance, saying:
“And for the record, this is not a paid promotion.”
When a follower asked whether she used Grok’s voice mode or just text, she clarified:
“Yes! I typed it! Did not use voice mode.”
What is Grok 3?
For those unfamiliar, Grok 3 is the latest AI chatbot developed by xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company. It is the successor to Grok 2 and is designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek R1.
Key Features of Grok 3:
DeepSearch: Allows AI to provide more detailed and well-reasoned responses.
Think Mode: Helps solve complex problems in math, science, and coding.
The easiest way to access Grok 3 is through the X app or website, with dedicated versions for Windows and Mac currently in development.
AI & Human Interaction: A Growing Debate
While Preity Zinta was clearly fascinated by Grok 3, her experience also raises important questions:
- Will more people turn to AI for companionship?
- Can AI chatbots ever replace human connection?
- Or, as Zinta hopes, will people continue to value real-world conversations over machine-generated ones?
