National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah filed his nomination papers from the Ganderbal constituency on Wednesday. Omar was accompanied by his two sons and many senior party leaders. Omar Abdullah reached the district office to file his nomination along with a crowd of National Conference leaders and workers. People welcomed Omar at various places on the way.

A special appeal by taking off the cap from the head

After filing his nomination papers, Omar addressed the workers in the party office. During this, Omar became very emotional. Omar took off his cap from his head and appealed to the people to vote for him. 

Let my cap remain on my head- Abdullah

Omar told the people, 'Respect this cap of mine. I am appealing to you. Give me a chance. Don't tell me anything else. Let this cap of mine remain on my head.' Omar Abdullah said all this to his supporters in Kashmiri. 

Abdullah is contesting from two seats

Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah is contesting elections from two assembly seats of central Kashmir, Ganderbal and Budgam. Voting for both the seats is to be held on 25th September in the second phase. Farooq Abdullah was present iatRahul Gandhi's rally in Anantnag today but Omar Abdullah did not come. Because at the time when Rahul's rally was being held in Anantnag, Omar Abdullah was filing na nomination in Ganderbal at the same time.

Assembly elections are in three phases 

It is known that assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases. The election results will be declared on October 8. Security arrangements have been made very strict in the state for the assembly elections.
