These people will benefit from cheap plans

TRAI's decision to amend the Consumer Protection Regulation is going to benefit the country's 30 crore 2G feature phone users. Apart from this, people who have a secondary SIM will also benefit a lot from this. After the amendment in TRAI's rules, all telecom companies will have to reduce the prices of their voice and SMS recharge plans. After the amendment in the Consumer Protection Regulation, it will be made mandatory for all telecom companies to introduce Special Tariff Voucher (STV). With the introduction of Special Tariff Voucher, users will be able to buy voice and SMS recharge plans at a cheaper rate.

Cheap recharges will be available in the month of January only

TRAI's new rule may come into effect in the second week of January, after which telecom companies will have to reduce the prices of their voice and SMS recharge plans. TRAI has decided to increase the current validity of 90 days for special tariff vouchers, after which this validity will increase to 365 days.
