GST Collection In December: The trend of increase in the government's revenue from GST continued in December as well. GST collection in the country has increased by 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore in the month of December.

According to government data released on Wednesday, Central GST collection in December was Rs 32,836 crore, State GST was Rs 40,499 crore, Integrated GST (IGST) was Rs 47,783 crore and Cess tax was Rs 11,471 crore.

Highest collection ever in April 2024

With this, the total gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue grew by 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore. A year ago in the same month it was Rs 1.65 lakh crore. In the month under review, GST from domestic transactions grew by 8.4 percent to Rs 1.32 lakh crore, while revenue from tax on imports grew by about four percent to Rs 44,268 crore. 

GST collection grew by 8.5 percent year-on-year to Rs 1.82 lakh crore in the month of November. The highest GST collection till date was Rs 2.10 lakh crore in April 2024.
