Maharashtra Politics : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday made serious allegations against Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra in the assembly. He said that urban Naxals participated in Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Devendra Fadnavis alleged that some organisations participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra which were declared as front organisations of urban Naxals by the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra and the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre.

He said that the aim of such organisations is to create confusion among people about the constitutional bodies in the country. It is not about questioning your patriotism, but you should understand who is using you.

Big claim regarding Kathmandu meeting

During this, Devendra Fadnavis also made a big claim. He claimed that a big meeting was held in Kathmandu on November 15, 2024 in which people of Bharat Jodo Yatra and Urban Naxals participated.

Opposition should introspect

Responding to the debate in the Assembly on the motion of thanks on the joint address of the Governor to both the Houses of the state legislature, Devendra Fadnavis asked the Opposition to introspect and accept the mandate received in the Assembly elections instead of blaming the EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines).

Citing the example of Mahabharata, he said that he is the modern-day Abhimanyu who knows how to break the Chakravyuh. He said that EVM means 'Every Vote for Maharashtra' which we got.

The Chief Minister said, "If you win, it is a victory of the mandate and democracy. But if you lose, blame it on EVMs and the Election Commission of India (ECI). You are creating distrust about institutions that have constitutional powers. This is an insult to the people and the Constitution that has given them the right to vote."
