Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has paid approximately ₹400 crore in taxes over the past five years, as the city experiences an unprecedented surge in religious tourism, Trust Secretary Champat Rai revealed on Sunday.

Breakdown of Taxes Paid (2020-2025)

Period: February 5, 2020 – February 5, 2025
Total Taxes Paid: ₹400 crore

  • ₹270 crore in Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • ₹130 crore under other tax categories

Ayodhya’s Unprecedented Tourism Growth

Ayodhya has become a major religious tourism hub, drawing record numbers of pilgrims and tourists:

  • 16 crore visitors recorded in the past year.
  • 5 crore devotees visited the Ram Temple.
  • Maha Kumbh saw 1.26 crore devotees in Ayodhya.

This influx has not only strengthened the city’s economy but also created numerous employment opportunities for locals.

Financial Transparency & Audits

The Trust’s financial records are regularly audited by officials from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to ensure transparency and accountability, Rai confirmed.

With Ayodhya emerging as a spiritual and economic powerhouse, its growth as a religious tourism hub is expected to continue in the coming years.
