New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, marking its return to power after 27 years. The party won 48 out of 70 seats, while the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) managed just 22 seats.

The Congress failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive election, further diminishing its presence in Delhi politics.

Meanwhile, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia lost to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah in Jangpura, adding to AAP’s electoral woes.

Who Will Be Delhi’s Next Chief Minister? BJP’s Top Contenders

Vijender Gupta

A three-time MLA from Rohini, Vijender Gupta has also served as Delhi BJP president and Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. His experience in Delhi politics makes him a key candidate for the top post.

Virendra Sachdeva

Currently Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva played a crucial role in BJP’s electoral success. Under his leadership, the party ended AAP’s dominance in the capital, making him a strong CM contender.

Harish Khurana

What’s Next for Delhi?

With the BJP securing a clear majority, the focus now shifts to who will be the next chief minister. Meanwhile, AAP, despite retaining a presence, faces serious challenges in rebuilding its base after this major defeat.

As the BJP prepares to form the new government, the top priority for Delhi residents remains controlling air pollution, improving law and order, and expanding welfare schemes. The coming days will determine the future course of governance in the national capital.
