Batala, Punjab – In a high-intensity police operation, the main accused in the grenade attack case, Mohit, was killed in an encounter with Batala Police. He was cornered along with two of his accomplices before the fatal exchange of fire took place.

Police Operation Turns Deadly

According to the Punjab Police, Mohit and another accused, Vishal, were arrested for their involvement in grenade blasts in Jaintipur and Raimal. While being taken for weapon recovery, Mohit suddenly threw a grenade and opened fire on the police in a desperate escape attempt.

In response, police officers retaliated, injuring him in the gunfire. He was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital, Batala, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Connection to February 17 Explosion

The case is linked to a low-intensity blast that occurred on February 17 in Raimal village, Batala. According to police reports, a loud explosion was heard near a house belonging to a relative of a police officer. The blast damaged the floor outside the house and shattered a glass window, raising security concerns in the region.
