Jaipur: Bhajanlal government has taken a big decision in the cabinet meeting held on Saturday. In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to abolish 9 districts created during the Gehlot government. With this decision of the government, the total number of districts in Rajasthan has now become 41. However, out of the 17 districts created in the Gehlot government, 8 districts will remain as they are.
Jogaram Patel told the reason
In a press conference after the Rajasthan Cabinet meeting, Minister Jogaram Patel said that Rajasthan was formed in 1956. After this, we had 26 districts for a long time. After this, 7 more new districts were formed. But the previous government had announced 17 new districts and three divisions at the end of its tenure. The previous government had announced new districts just before the announcement of the code of conduct, which is not practical. Neither was the population basis of these districts correct.
There will be 7 divisions and 41 districts
He further said that our cabinet committee found that these districts are not practical. We are abolishing them. There will be a total of 7 divisions and 41 districts in Rajasthan. In this way, the tenure of 9 new districts created during the Gehlot government has ended. Also, three new divisions - Banswara, Sikar and Pali divisions have been abolished.
