New Delhi: The weather has changed across the country. Somewhere it is raining heavily, somewhere it is snowing and somewhere there is a cold wave. It has become difficult for people to live in Delhi. Delhiites are suffering due to cold, rain and pollution. Many states including the capital Delhi received heavy rains last Friday, due to which the roads are waterlogged. Traffic has started at many places. After 15 years, the highest rainfall of 9.1 mm was recorded in the month of December. Yesterday there was rain in the plains and heavy snowfall in the hilly areas.

Winds will blow at a speed of 50 KM

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the capital Delhi and Noida till December 31. There is a yellow alert for rain today and tomorrow. There will be rain with thunderstorms in 11 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. There is also an alert for hailstorm at some places. Heavy snowfall may occur in these three hilly states Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Cold winds may blow at a speed of 50 KM per hour. This will increase the cold and the temperature will drop.

Weather forecast for the next 5 days

Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir will receive snowfall along with rain today and tomorrow. There is a possibility of lightning in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan. Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh may receive sporadic rainfall with thunder, lightning and strong winds. There is also a possibility of rain in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Western Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Maharashtra and Gujarat. There is also a possibility of hailstorm along with storm in southeastern Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A fresh Western Disturbance may affect the Western Himalayan region from January 1, 2025. In such a situation, light rain/snowfall is expected in the Himalayan regions on January 1 and 2.
