New Delhi: Recently, China tested its two sixth generation fighter jets simultaneously, which has become a topic of discussion all over the world. The video of these aircraft is becoming increasingly viral on social media and many countries have seen these Chinese aircraft as a challenge to their security. While India currently does not have any 5th generation fighter jet, China has successfully completed the test of the 6th generation fighter jet. Apart from this, Pakistan is also planning to buy 5th generation fighter jets from China, while India has recently acquired 4.5 generation Rafale fighter jets.

These countries gave the proposal

According to a new report, India has received invitations from two big groups of countries to join the 6th generation fighter jet project. Germany, France, and Spain have offered India to join their “Future Combat Air System” (FCAS). Similarly, a group of Britain, Japan, and Italy is also offering India to be a part of their “Global Combat Air System” (GCAS). These offers reflect India's growing strategic importance and global partnerships.

India spent on this project

But now India is faced with a crucial dilemma. According to reports, India has invested heavily in its indigenous “Advanced Medium Combat System” (AMCS), which can make it self-reliant in air warfare through 5.5 generation fighter aircraft. If India chooses either FCAS or GCAS project, it may get cutting-edge technology, but it will mean that it may divert attention from its indigenous AMCS project. This complex situation has led India to take a difficult decision, as the strategic and technical priorities associated with these projects are very important.
