What Was Discussed in the First Cabinet Meeting?
The first Delhi Cabinet meeting under CM Rekha Gupta was held on Thursday, where the government laid out its immediate priorities.
Key Decisions Taken in the First Cabinet Meeting:
Implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Healthcare Scheme in Delhi
- The government will roll out the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a ₹5 lakh top-up, providing significant healthcare benefits to the residents of Delhi.
Tabling of 14 CAG Reports in the Assembly
- The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports, which were pending under the previous government, will now be tabled in the first session of the Delhi Assembly.
Speaking at the press conference, CM Gupta emphasized the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling its promises:
“In the first Cabinet meeting, we discussed and passed two agendas – to implement in Delhi the Ayushman Bharat scheme with ₹5 lakh top-up and tabling of 14 CAG reports in the first seating of the Assembly.”
She further assured that the BJP government would work towards the welfare and development of Delhiites:
“We will fulfill all the commitments that we have made to the people.”
CM Gupta’s Response to Former CM Atishi’s Remarks
Former Delhi CM Atishi had earlier raised concerns about the BJP’s promise to provide ₹2,500 per month to women in Delhi. Responding to her statement, CM Rekha Gupta firmly stated that the new government will work on its own agenda without external pressure.
“It’s our government; the agenda will be ours. Let us work. She doesn’t need to tell us everything; she has done what she has to while being in power.”
A New Era for Delhi Politics
With Rekha Gupta at the helm, the BJP is set to bring its vision to Delhi after 27 years. The Ayushman Bharat scheme and the pending CAG reports are just the beginning of the government's agenda. As the administration moves forward, all eyes will be on how the new leadership delivers on its promises.
