Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Announces Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Scheme in First Cabinet Meeting

Delhi’s newly elected Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, made a significant announcement on Thursday following her first Cabinet meeting. The BJP-led government has decided to implement the Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme in the national capital, marking a major policy shift.

Key Announcements from the First Cabinet Meeting

After chairing the first Cabinet meeting, Rekha Gupta addressed the media and shared two key decisions taken by her government:

  1. Implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme – The scheme will be introduced in Delhi with a ₹5 lakh top-up, ensuring greater healthcare benefits for the people.
  2. Tabling of 14 Pending CAG Reports – The government will present 14 reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in the first Assembly session, which were delayed by the previous administration.

Gupta emphasized that these decisions reflect the BJP’s commitment to governance and accountability.

BJP Government to Fulfil Promises Made to Delhiites

Addressing the media, CM Rekha Gupta reassured the public that the BJP government would fulfill all promises made during the election campaign. She stressed that the party is focused on delivering results and working towards the welfare of the people.

“We will fulfil all the commitments that we have made to the people," said Gupta, reiterating her government's dedication to its agenda.

Response to AAP’s Atishi on Women's Welfare Scheme

Gupta also responded to a statement made by former Delhi Minister Atishi, who questioned whether the BJP would honor its pre-election promise of giving ₹2,500 per month to women. The Chief Minister dismissed Atishi’s remarks, asserting that the BJP government will decide its own priorities and policies without external interference.

“It’s our government; the agenda will be ours. Let us work. She doesn’t need to tell us everything; she has done what she had to while being in power," Gupta remarked.

Minister Parvesh Verma Reaffirms Government's Plans

Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma also confirmed the government's priorities. He stated that:

  • The Ayushman Bharat scheme will soon be implemented across Delhi.
  • The CAG reports will be presented in the Assembly without any further delay.

BJP Returns to Power in Delhi After 27 Years

Rekha Gupta’s appointment as Delhi’s Chief Minister marks a historic victory for the BJP, which has returned to power in the national capital after 27 years. The party defeated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections, ending Arvind Kejriwal’s decade-long rule.

With the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme and a focus on governance transparency, the BJP government aims to deliver on its electoral promises and bring major reforms to Delhi.
