New Delhi: The Directorate of Education, Delhi has given important instructions regarding the opening of physical classes in schools. The notice has asked all the schools to start conducting normal physical classes for the students from Monday, January 20 onwards. The decision to allow reopening of schools was made after the CAQM in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas revoked the actions issued under Stage-III (‘Severe’ Air Quality) of the GRAP schedule with immediate effect.

The Directorate has also requested all the heads of schools to communicate this decision to students, staff members, and parents. The order regarding its implementation will be applicable to all government, government-aided and DoE-recognised private schools of Delhi.

The sports regulation authority said in their statement, “All the Govt, Govt Aided, Unaided Recognized Private Schools of DoE, NDMC, MCD and Delhi Cantonment Board kindly note Class rooms circular 12/2025 earlier issued is cancelled with immediate effect. ‘Thus all the classes in all the schools are to be conducted in physical mode with immediate effect Subscriber class room’.”  

In their last statement the Delhi government announced that Delhi schools would remain shut for 15 days during the winter vacation in 2025, starting January 1 and concluding on the 15th. In addition, the  Department of education Director termed that all schools in Delhi should do hybrid classes (except classes 10 and 12) as a result of pollution in NCR.  

The Class 12 exam dates are promoted in conjunction with the CBSE Class 10 board applications. From February 15 to March 18, 2025 for CBSE Class 10 board exams date plans, while Class 12 will be from February 15 to April 4,2025.
