Hours after a heated exchange between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and former U.S. President Donald Trump alongside Vice President JD Vance at the White House, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky has publicly demanded Zelenskyy’s impeachment.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dubinsky sharply criticized Zelenskyy, calling his actions a “diplomatic failure” and blaming him for Ukraine’s loss of unconditional U.S. support.

Dubinsky: Zelenskyy’s Diplomatic Failure Has Led to Ukraine’s Isolation

In a strongly worded statement, Dubinsky accused Zelenskyy of failing in foreign policy, which, he claimed, has resulted in Ukraine’s growing international isolation.

“The events of the past hours – the public humiliation of Zelenskyy at the White House, Trump’s acknowledgment of his diplomatic failure, and Ukraine’s loss of unconditional U.S. support – have marked the final act of the regime’s collapse," Dubinsky wrote.

The MP also criticized Zelenskyy’s leadership within Ukraine, alleging that the president has suppressed dissent and persecuted those who oppose him.

“Zelensky has not only failed in foreign policy – he has driven the country into a state of repression, where anyone who disagrees with his course faces persecution," he added.

Dubinsky Pushes for Emergency Impeachment Proceedings

Calling for an emergency session of the Ukrainian Parliament, Dubinsky urged lawmakers to begin impeachment proceedings immediately.

According to him, Zelenskyy’s mismanagement of foreign relations, growing authoritarian rule, and crackdown on opposition voices make impeachment a necessary step for Ukraine’s future.

“Zelenskyy is bankrupt. Zelenskyy is not Ukraine! It is time to put him on trial. If he cannot offer a real way out of the crisis, then it is up to us to make fateful decisions.”

Dubinsky further warned that Ukraine is at a crossroads, stating:

“Zelenskyy thought he could rule Ukraine through force. Now he has lost. Ukraine must decide – will it continue its freefall into the abyss, or will it begin the fight for true independence?"

Who Is Oleksandr Dubinsky?

Oleksandr Dubinsky is a controversial Ukrainian politician, former journalist, and a self-proclaimed critic of Zelenskyy’s administration.

Key Facts About Dubinsky:

  • Elected to Ukraine’s Parliament in 2019.
  • A vocal supporter of Donald Trump and critic of Western influence in Ukraine.
  • Faced accusations of corruption and alleged ties to Russian influence campaigns.
  • Was arrested in 2023 on suspicion of state treason and accused of spreading misinformation about Ukraine’s leadership.

Dubinsky claims his legal troubles are politically motivated, describing himself as a political prisoner of Zelenskyy’s regime.

“I have been imprisoned by Zelenskyy’s regime for 15 months for speaking the truth. I’ve developed an alternative peace plan, advocating for a swift end to the war through negotiations.”

The MP also claims that Western-funded media portray him as a "Russian agent", calling such accusations a "fake narrative."

Dubinsky’s call for impeachment has sparked intense debate within Ukrainian political circles. While Zelenskyy still retains significant support, growing criticism from opposition figures like Dubinsky signals rising political tensions.

It remains to be seen whether Parliament will act on the impeachment demand or if Zelenskyy can withstand the latest political storm.
