New Delhi: Former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh has passed away. He breathed his last on Saturday (August 10) night at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Natwar was ill for a long time. He was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago. His last rites will be performed tomorrow i.e. on August 12 at the crematorium located on Lodhi Road.

He was the foreign minister in the UPA government

Let us tell you that Natwar Singh was the Foreign Minister of India in the Manmohan Singh government during 2004-05. Apart from this, he has also worked as India's ambassador to Pakistan. Natwar was also associated with the office of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1966 to 1971.

He served in the foreign service for 31 years.

Natwar Singh joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1953. During this time, his career as a diplomat lasted 31 years. Natwar was the Indian ambassador to Pakistan, America, and the United Nations. Apart from this, he has also worked as a special assistant to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
