New Delhi. The Central Government has constituted a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for the One Nation-One Election Bill. It has a total of 31 members, including 21 MPs from the Lok Sabha and 10 MPs from the Rajya Sabha.

These MPs got a place

Priyanka Gandhi, Manish Tiwari and Sukhdev Bhagat Singh have been included from Congress in the JPC formed for One Nation-One Election. On the other hand, there are 10 MPs from BJP including Bansuri Swaraj, Anurag Singh Thakur and Sambit Patra. Apart from this, Kalyan Banerjee's name is included from TMC.

Talking about other parties, one MP each from Samajwadi Party, DMK, TDP, NCP (Sharad Pawar), Jansena, RLD and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) are included in this committee.

What will the JPC do?

JPC will hold in-depth discussions on this bill with representatives of all political parties. It is being said that speakers of all state assemblies and intellectuals from across the country will be invited for the discussion on the One Nation-One Election Bill. Along with this, the opinion of the common people will also be taken on this bill.

Opposition parties are against it

It is noteworthy that the opposition parties are strongly opposing the One Nation One Election. Opposition leaders say that BJP wants to establish 'one party rule' in the country through One Nation One Election. Many big opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party are against the One Nation One Election.
