New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal's troubles have increased. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has given permission to ED to prosecute Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam. ED had called Kejriwal the mastermind in this case.
Changes made in the excise policy
The ED arrested then Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 and filed a chargesheet against him, the party and others in May. In its last chargesheet in the liquor scam case, the ED has named Arvind Kejriwal as well as Manish Sisodia as the masterminds of the scam. The agency says that Kejriwal and Sisodia made changes in the Excise Policy 2021-22 to help the South Lobby, in which a bribe of Rs 100 crore was allegedly paid. If sources are to be believed, out of the bribe of Rs 100 crore given, Aam Aadmi Party used Rs 45 crore in the Goa Assembly election campaign. This is a big setback for the Aam Aadmi Party before the Delhi Assembly elections.
AAP suffered a setback before the elections
Assembly elections may be held in the capital in the month of February. All the parties are preparing for it vigorously. Aam Aadmi Party has also released the list of all its candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections. In such a situation, after the approval given to ED, Kejriwal and AAP's problems may increase. Aam Aadmi Party says that the approval to prosecute Kejriwal is a conspiracy of BJP. BJP wants to destroy Aam Aadmi Party. Nothing has been found so far in the liquor policy case. More than 500 people have been accused in the investigation.
