
Prayagraj: A huge influx of devotees is expected to arrive in Prayagraj on February 26, marking the final day of the Maha Kumbh, which also coincides with Maha Shivratri. Given the massive gathering, authorities have implemented strict traffic and crowd management measures to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
Traffic Restrictions in Prayagraj
Traffic movement in the Maha Kumbh area will be restricted from 4 PM today (February 25).
From 6 PM, restrictions will extend to the entire city of Prayagraj.
Exemptions: Vehicles carrying essential commodities, as well as government officials, police, doctors, and administrative workers, will be allowed free movement.
Guidelines for Holy Bathing
Authorities have issued strict guidelines to manage the flow of pilgrims at the bathing ghats:
Devotees arriving from Uttari Jhunsi → Harishchandra Ghat & Old GT Ghat
Devotees coming via Dakshini Jhunsi → Arail Ghat
Devotees entering from Pande Kshetra → Bharadwaj Ghat, Nagavasuki Ghat, Mori Ghat, Kali Ghat, Ram Ghat & Hanuman Ghat
Officials have urged pilgrims to avoid unnecessary movement and leave promptly after rituals to prevent overcrowding.
Record-Breaking Maha Kumbh 2025 Attendance
The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, began on January 13 and will conclude on February 26.
So far, over 63 crore devotees have participated, surpassing initial estimates by the state government.
