
New Delhi: A major terrorist attack has taken place in Ankara, Turkey. A suicide bomb blast has taken place at Turkey's major aerospace facility. Reports on social media said that gunfire was also heard at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) in the capital Ankara. The government has confirmed that people have died in the attack. One terrorist blew himself up in the attack and the other also had an encounter with security forces. The local mayor told local TV that 4 people were killed and 14 injured in the attack.
Local media reported a loud explosion in the Turkish capital Ankara and showed footage of gunfire at the scene. "A terrorist attack was carried out against TUSAS facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara," Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said. TUSAS (Turkish Aerospace Industries) manufactures the country's first national combat aircraft KAAN, among other projects. "A terrorist attack was carried out against Turkish Aerospace Industries. Several people are reported to have been killed in this attack," Ali Yerlikaya wrote on X.

Footage from the scene broadcast by local media initially showed huge clouds of smoke and a huge fire at the scene in Kahramankazan, a small town about 40 kilometers north of Ankara.
