New Delhi. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been cremated with full state honors. The three armies saluted Manmohan Singh's mortal remains. Many big leaders including President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi were present at the ghat.

Daughter gave fire

Manmohan Singh's elder daughter Upinder Singh, second Daman Singh and third Amrit Singh were also present during the last rites. Manmohan Singh was bid farewell wearing a blue turban. The eldest daughter lit the funeral pyre.

Dr. Manmohan Singh was known for his calm and simple nature, due to which even his political opponents respected him.

He received several major honours, including the Padma Vibhushan in 1987, the Asia Money Award in 1993, the Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award in 1995, among others. He also received honorary degrees from Cambridge and Oxford universities.
