Railway Board has given good news for the Level-1 candidates. Understanding the problems of the candidates, the board has relaxed the educational criteria for Level-1 posts. First of all, know what is Level-1... Level-1 recruitment is the changed name of Group D recruitment, that is, the recruitment which was earlier named Group D has recently been named Level-1 by the board.
Now these candidates will be able to apply
The Railway Board has relaxed the minimum educational qualification criteria for recruitment to Level-1 posts. Now as per the new criteria, candidates having passed 10th standard or ITI Diploma or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) will be eligible to apply for Level-1 posts.
To put it in simple language, now 10th pass candidates will be able to apply for the Level-1 exam. ITI etc. certificate will not be mandatory for any candidate.
What was there before?
Earlier, for technical departments, candidates were required to have passed class 10th examination along with NAC or ITI diploma. In a letter sent by the board to all railway zones on January 2, it was said that the issue was reviewed and this decision was taken bypassing the earlier instructions.
What was said in the letter?
"It has been decided by the Board that the minimum educational qualification for all future open market recruitments in Level-1 posts (including upcoming CEN for Level-1 recruitment) shall be 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) awarded by NCVT," the letter said.
Recruitment has come out for 32,000 posts
The recently released Indian Railway recruitment includes the posts of Assistant, Pointsman and Track Maintainer in various departments in Level-1 posts. Railway Recruitment Board has recently released a notification for the recruitment of about 32,000 candidates on Level-1 posts, for which the application process will run from 23 January to 22 February.
