As the officers held a briefing for the media in Mumbai, which is located in the state of Maharashtra, they disclosed that the seized items that were in the possession of the arrested suspect accused of attacking Saif Ali Khan had indicatives of him being a Bangladeshi citizen. Furthermore, According to the Mumbai police, the assaulter had modified his name to Vjay Dass upon arriving in India.

As stated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, a case pertaining to attempts of robbery against Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad aged 30 has been lodged as he tried robbing the house of the well known actor. “ On January 16 th 2 AM, the boy attacked Saif at his home. A case was then made and one person was detained. That individual was detained once again and has now turned 30. His purpose for entering the house was to steal. Time for further inquiry has been asked for, and the details will be provided in court afterwards… We have our suspicions that he is a Bangladeshi…,” Dixit Gedam said.

The defendant in the Gedam alleged which has supposedly happened 5 to 6 months ago has always maintained that he used to live in the outskirts of Mumbai while he was employed at a housekeeping agency. He utilized the name ‘Vijay Das’ during the course of his employment at the agency. Saif Ali Khan stabbing case must have heard about him as he was arrested the case earlier this year in Thane, Maharashtra.
