West Palm Beach: Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he had ordered aerial attacks on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in response to Iran-backed Houthi rebels targeting ships along a key maritime corridor.

In a social media statement, Trump vowed to use “overwhelming lethal force” until the Houthis halt their attacks on global shipping routes.

“Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists’ bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom,” he said.

Airstrikes Target Houthi Bases in Sanaa

Houthi-controlled areas in Sanaa were hit by multiple explosions.
Smoke plumes were seen rising over the Sanaa airport complex, which houses a major military facility.
The extent of the damage remains unclear.

The airstrikes come shortly after the Houthis threatened to resume attacks on Israeli vessels sailing near Yemen, in response to Israel’s blockade on Gaza.

While Houthi attacks have not been reported since the warning, the U.S., Britain, and Israel have previously launched strikes on Houthi-held territories.

“These relentless assaults have cost the U.S. and World Economy many BILLIONS of Dollars while, at the same time, putting innocent lives at risk,” Trump added.

Trump Warns Iran Over Houthi Support

Trump directly warned Iran, stating that the U.S. would hold it “fully accountable” for supporting the Houthis.

???????? U.S. allies, including Israel and Britain, have previously conducted military operations in the region, though Israel’s military declined to comment on the latest developments.

The situation remains tense, with global powers closely monitoring the conflict's potential impact on maritime trade, regional security, and global oil prices.
