New Delhi: Ustad and famous tabla player Zakir Hussain, who gave India a distinct identity in classical music across the world, is no more among us. Zakir Hussain died at the age of 73. Zakir Hussain breathed his last in San Francisco, America. Zakir Hussain was a patient of high blood pressure. Due to which he had heart problems. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where he died due to heart problems.
What is this disease?
According to media reports, Zakir Hussain's family said in a statement that he was suffering from 'idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis', a dangerous lung disease, which caused complications. When you breathe, oxygen reaches the blood through the small air sacs present in our lungs and then from here it reaches all parts of the body. But when IPF occurs, scar tissue starts growing inside the lungs. Due to which breathing becomes difficult. This problem becomes even more serious with age. This causes a lack of oxygen in the blood through the lungs. Due to which other parts of your body are unable to function properly.
Its symptoms and treatment
There is no cure for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, it can only be controlled. If the condition is severe then lung transplant is an option. Gradually the tissue in the lungs starts growing and the lungs become wound-like. Due to which you may experience chest pain or stiffness, swelling in the legs, loss of appetite, sore throat, cough, feeling tired, joint and muscle pain, weight loss and difficulty in breathing. If you are suffering from any other disease then the problems increase even more.
